Worried about your energy costs? Stay in control of your energy bills and help tackle climate change. Learn new practical tips & hints and take part in our quiz.

ENERGY HELP FOR POOR AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE  45 minutes  

Poor and vulnerable people often struggle with energy. But help is available. Find out about Winter Fuel Payment, Cold Weather Payments, Warm Home Discount and the Priority Services Register.

GRANTS AND LOANS FOR HEATING AND INSULATION 45 minutes

Home Energy Scotland offers impartial advice on energy in our homes, heating and insulation. They also offer interest-free loans (and in some cases grants) towards making homes more energy efficient. Find out what is available and sign up for your own home energy audits.

Become aware of food waste. Discover new ideas about food planning, portioning, freezing and using up leftovers and save hundreds of pounds per year. This workshop is funded by Zero Waste Scotland.

EMBRACING GREENER TRAVEL  45 minutes  

Climate change is an urgent problem. Transport and travel are major sources of the release of carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Learn about emissions in Scotland; the health benefits of active travel to replace short journeys by car; and available support to help us adopt greener transport options including e-bikes and electric cars.

SAVING WATER IN SCOTLAND – REALLY? 45 minutes

Home Energy Scotland is working in partnership with Scottish Water to help you save water, energy and money every year. Around one fifth of the average household’s heating bills are spent on heating water. This workshop will help us to use water more wisely and keep our energy bills down.
