Hazel's Farewell

A medley of comments and photographs of Hazel's farewell from Moncreiff:

Sarah: A lovely morning marking Hazel's time at Moncreiff.

Her brooch is a unique piece made for us by Mhairi & Kevin. The shape is based on the window making us affectionately known as the Star Trek church. And in it is the cross! A wee something we hope will be treasured by Hazel reflecting her and her time with us. Like Hazel, one of a kind.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported and worked so hard to make this a perfect send off. (P.S. party soon!)

Hazel's Thanks

Thank you everyone - feeling truly blessed and loved. An emotional and amazing morning as we worshipped God together on my leaving day. I am so grateful to God, Sarah Ross and all at Moncreiff for the love, encouragement and support. I was overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity and am still taking it all in. Thank you seems so inadequate, but please know it is heartfelt. I will miss you all.

Thank you all for the wonderful and thoughtful (and humorous) gifts - all are very special and loved. The brooch is out of this world (Star Trek - no pun intended!) and I will treasure it, such a unique piece of jewellery which I love, thank you.

Your kindness, welcome and hospitality are also out of this world and a huge thank you to everyone who catered for well over a hundred staying for lunch. There is so much to give thanks for - Sarah's preaching, Laura's playing, the choir's singing of a personal favourite Here I Am Lord, the Faithbuilders chidren's gifts and hugs, the cards and well wishes, the hugs and kisses, the love and friendship all made the sadness of leaving today disappear and be a memorable day filled with joy and love. I love you all.

Thank you, God bless xx

Comments for some who were in church or watched the live stream;

''It was a lovely happy Service Hazel, you will be missed very much. You have given so much to our congregation and we are very grateful. Looking forward to seeing you ordained and inducted into StGeorge's on Friday, their congregation are fortunate.'

''What a beautiful service to mark Hazel's time at Moncreiff. We've been privileged to have her at our church over the past 15 months. St George's Paisley are fortunate indeed. Thank you Sarah for today and thank you to all who organised lunch. We're now looking forward to Hazel's Ordination and Induction on Friday and we still have a party at Moncreiff to enjoy!'

''Watched the live stream and had a wee tear in my eye, it was such a lovely service, thanks Sarah.'

Made For You

Moncreiff Parish Church commissioned us to make a brooch to say a fond farewell to their probationer minister, Hazel. We based the design around Moncrieff’s famous windows, it was such a good brief! We engraved a cross in the middle of the overall shape and polished to a mirror finish, then added a satin texture to represent the window panes. Sarah, the wonderful minister at Moncrieff, chose a special verse to have stamped on the back;

Psalm 27:14

 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Good Luck Hazel!

The wonderful party!

Simply an amazing night for Hazel's leaving party. Such joy and participation and healthy competion. (musicman, musical chairs) and even some coordination in the Slosh and ceilidh dances! Genuine friendships across the age ranges, great laughs and great talent.

Thanks to Craig & Sarah for musical items and Alan for DJ expertise. Thanks to Laura and team for coordinating, setting up and cleaning! Thanks to Anne for hanging in there with the leftovers that no one wanted to deal with!
