Our company is part of the Greater Glasgow Division and we meet at Moncreiff Parish Church every Tuesday.
All girls have successfully completed the Commonwealth Badge work and have enjoyed taking
part in a number of sports as well as learning about different countries within the Commonwealth. It has enthused them and they are now looking forward to the Games in Glasgow.
We will be having a well-earned break during the two weeks of the Easter school holidays then
it'll be all systems go preparing for our display on Tuesday 6 May. Prior to that, we are off to
camp at the Broomlee Outdoor Centre in West Linton when the girls will take part in an exciting programme of activities. They get cold, wet, muddy and tired but thoroughly enjoy
themselves so we're hoping for more of the same this year.
The 1st East Kilbride Company of the Girls' Brigade is seeking new leadership and to date have been unsuccessful in finding anyone from their own church (West Kirk). The current
situation will leave the company with one recently Commissioned young officer and a couple of adult helpers. The company meet on a Wednesday night and would welcome anyone interested in
helping. Please contact me if you would like more information.
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Girls' Brigade Scotland's holiday lodges.Tayview Lodges are situated at Guay, near Ballinluig in beautiful Perthshire. A few
minutes's drive from the Guay turn off on the A9 leads you to the lodges which are set in lush green countryside with stunning views where you can enjoy nature at its best in peaceful
surroundings.
The Centre is owned by The Girls' Brigade in Scotland and was opened in September 2011. GB
members use the lodges for a variety of purposes but are keen to welcome other youth groups
and the general public to use the facilities.
